I n the early 1950s Frank A. Modelski, Sr. founded a small storefront funeral home on the southwest side of Chicago. The funeral home would later be permanently established at its current location of 5725 S. Pulaski Road. Today his son Richard J. Modelski and his family operate two locations under the Modell name, one at the original location, and the other in Homer Glen.

The Chicago location has been in operation since Frank Sr. founded the firm on May 5, 1955. The Homer Glen location opened its doors in the Fall of 1993. Both are now operating as Richard J. Modell Funeral Home & Cremation Services. Rich and his staff are proud to continue the fine tradition of personal family service instilled in him by his father. As a family owned and operated facility we believe what separates us from the rest is a dedication to our families but more importantly listening to what each and every individual requires to help celebrate their loved one's life.

Rich, who has been a licensed funeral director since 1976, brings to his company many years of funeral experience. He also has a vested interest in both communities through his and his family's active involvement in many organizations.

Our staff of four licensed funeral directors will always pride itself on following Frank Sr.'s message to Rich that every family who we have served feels like they are part of our family.
